So why a music blog?
I've long had a strong love for music. Not quite as long as my love for video games but it's certainly related. For a long time all I listened to on my own were game soundtracks. I'd leave games open or download midi renditions of them. The first album I ever owned was the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack. Since then I've amassed a large collection of music that's grown more eclectic over the years. I've been thinking for a while of getting my thoughts out there in a more fulfilling and permanent way. Having conversations about music is fun but I think it could be a better way to highlight interesting albums. I'm also not well versed in music terminology so I figured a good way to learn is to just write and stumble through it. Work on my music analysis and writing skills in one go.
What kind of shape will this blog take?
That's something I'm still figuring out as I explore writing a blog. As for now I plan on highlighting albums and soundtracks that I think are good or of interest, as well as comparisons of arrangements/versions of a song. I don't expect to have the full voice of a professional critic but I'm hoping I can still express my thoughts in a way that's of value or gets my enthusiasm across. I don't have an update schedule planned.
